No. Most schools let anyone who "speaks Mandarin" teach. Every MMC teacher holds a Bachelor's + Master's in Teaching Chinese as International Language. Our educators teach Mandarin to foreigners at Chinese universities and write the textbooks. That's a different category.

No. Our co-founder Lynda started at 17 from zero and finished Bachelor's + Master's fully in Mandarin in China. Adult learners actually do well with structured methodology because they know how to study. Age isn't the variable. Method is.
Apps are useful for supplement drilling. But tones need a human to correct you, and speaking needs a live partner. If your foundation is wrong, it takes 3× longer to fix later. Start with a trained teacher, use apps as support.
Being native is not a teaching qualification. HSK is a test for students. TCIL (Teaching Chinese as International Language) is the qualification for teachers. Ask any Mandarin tutor: "What did you major in for your Bachelor's and Master's?" If it's not TCIL, think twice.
